CoreTrace Webinar Abstract
"Another Tool in the APT Arsenal: Understanding and Defeating Reflective DLL Injections"
Years ago, the United States Air Force coined the term "Advanced Persistent Threats" (APTs) to define nation state actors that had the time and expertise to "attack" American cyber-targets (overtly causing damage or more likely covertly stealing valuable information) using a variety of targeted, blended attacks. Today, the definition of APT has expanded to include sophisticated attackers targeting non-governmental entities that have valuable assets or information--from electric utilities to financial institutions, retail companies to pharmaceutical companies.
The most recent weapon in the APT arsenal is a particularly difficult one to detect and prevent using traditional security technologies: the memory attack known as "Reflective DLL Injection".
Please join former Air Force Information Warfare Officer, and current CoreTrace founder / CTO, Daniel Teal for a webinar designed to educate attendees about the threat and how to thwart it.
The webinar will be held on September 20th at 2:00 p.m. EST/11:00 a.m. PST.
In the webinar, Dan will:
Outline the attack at a detailed level.
Demonstrate how attackers use reflective DLL injection technology to bypass traditional security software.
Demonstrate how CoreTrace Bouncer's memory protection stops the attack at multiple steps.
