SecTheory Webinar Abstract

"Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs): Clarity Over Hype, Please…"

Years ago, the US Air Force coined the term "Advanced Persistent Threats" (APTs). Today, it is becoming one of the most talked about, inconsistently defined, and abused terms in security. Yet APTs are real threats, and their attacks could have serious consequences.

Please join Robert Hansen, CISSP and CEO of SecTheory, for an interactive webinar designed to clarify the term, the actors, their targets and tools, and the potential counter-measures. Robert will be joined by Daniel Teal, founder and CTO of CoreTrace, and a former information warfare officer at the Air Force Information Warfare Center (AFIWC).

Given his extensive and varied security background, Robert is the perfect expert to facilitate this discussion and to do it a different way than a simple, one-way webinar. Please join us to hear the gentlemen's thoughts on the following questions:

  • What groups should be considered APTs?

  • What are their objectives?

  • Who are their potential targets?

  • What are the primary tools that are being used?

  • How do you stop them, or at least slow them down?
